Our Setting
At the foot of the Langeberg mountains lies Swellendam, part of the Overberg region. In the town’s historic centre, beside the Drostdy Museum Complex you will find Roosje van de Kaap. Being in the tourist centre means all major shops and lunch eateries are within easy reach. Even Marloth Nature Reserve with its lovely hiking trails is within walking distance.
If you like to venture a bit further, the antelopes of Bontebok National Park are at 5 km. The beautiful ‘De Hoop Nature Reserve’ is located on 45 minutes driving; a must for whale lovers, sun bathers and nature explorers. Going over the mountains you will enter the semi dessert of the Kleine Karoo, with several nature reserves, spa’s and pretty villages. At only half an hour driving wine can be tasted in the Robertson wine valley. In other words, Swellendam is very well positioned for a leisure stop over, a weekend city breakaway or for a longer stay
